Kathleen Schneider was born in Vermont. She received a BA from the University of Vermont and an MFA from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst. She is an Emerita Professor of Art at the University of Vermont and currently lives in Burlington, VT. Past solo and group exhibitions include: A.I.R. Gallery, New York; Grounds for Sculpture, Hamilton, NJ; DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, MA; Tollbooth Arts Center, Kirkcudbright, Scotland; American Academy of Arts and Letters, New York and collaborative site specific sculpture installations at Shelburne Farms, Shelburne, VT and the Burlington, VT waterfront. She has received fellowships from the Vermont Arts Council and participated in several residencies at Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, Saratoga, NY.
